Second Doctor's Visit: 9 weeks

Last Wednesday I had my second doctor's appointment.  After I scheduled it, I wondered why the doctor wanted to see me again so soon.  I knew that at 9 weeks it would be too soon to hear the baby's heart beat, and there wouldn't be much for them to check.  Then I thought: well, maybe they'll do an ultrasound?  An ultrasound early in the pregnancy can be very helpful at giving you an accurate due date, since babies develop so similarly early on.

Well, no ultrasound.  Dr. Gunnells did try to listen to the baby's heartbeat, but he said it would be extremely unusual to hear it at this point.  We didn't hear anything this time.  Next time, though!  I did get a good report from the blood work they took at my last appointment, so that is good.

So not much excitement on this end.  I'm supposed to be through the most queasy and tired part of the pregnancy, so that's good news.  That doesn't mean I'm not still tired and queasy at times!
